a personal update from Argentina and FHG social club news
At exactly 3:42pm in Buenos Aires, while stumbling through ordering my daily gelato, it hit me:
The skills that make someone successful at learning a language are EXACTLY the same skills that make people financially successful.
And anyone can get it with practice.
Also in this issue:
A short update on how it’s been balancing content and travelling

Polyglots and rich people have these in common
1. They embrace temporary incompetence
Yesterday, in a gelato shop, I confidently and loudly replied "NO" when the cashier confirmed my ice-cream price. Her face dropped. I thought she asked if I wanted anything else!
I felt stupid, we laughed it off.
Similarly, wealthy people understand financial literacy has a learning curve. They start investing before feeling "ready" and learn from small mistakes rather than waiting for perfect knowledge.
Quick insight: Research shows successful language learners score high in "tolerance of ambiguity" – functioning effectively despite incomplete information. This same trait predicts financial success.
2. They have a system and don’t rely on motivation
My Spanish isn't improving because I feel inspired daily (I don't). It's improving because I created a system:
1 Spanish LanguageTransfer lesson before my shower
Daily Duolingo (protect that streak)
At least 1 iTalki lesson every week
The wealthy do the same with money:
Automatic investments before spending
Weekly money reviews regardless of feeling
Regular learning built into their calendar
3. They choose progress over perfect action
When ordering coffee this morning, my sentence structure wasn't perfect, but I communicated effectively. I got my coffee and had a nice exchange.
Financially successful people operate the same way. They launch at 80% ready. They make "good enough" money moves consistently rather than perfect moves occasionally.
Think about it: Where are you waiting for perfection before taking action? With your finances? Your side hustle? Your health routines?

The Hard Truth About Making Money on Your Own | Ep. 65
This week’s episode is one that’s close to my heart and something you’ll be hearing a lot more from me on! Making and managing money outside of a 9-5 structure can be, and IS, so much more complex. Especially if you love systems, predictability and organisation (HMRC does not make this easy!).
Listen in if you want to hear a bit more on how Farah and I have approached our finances as new entrepreneurs.
FHG social club: update
Thank you to all who have filled out the interest form! I’ve had a lot of feedback from you so an April launch date is looking more and more unlikely (you have literally inspired me TOO much… like now there are too many actual locations we need to meet up in 👀).
If you’ve expressed interest, you’ll be the first to know updates and I might even be in touch to chat.
Travelling and content creation
We have a big newsletter gang growing and I wanted to make sure you’re in the know: I’ve been in South America for just over 3 weeks, initially for a wedding but to also test out remote working.
The first half of the trip was a holiday and I’ve been in ‘work mode’ for the last week, and it’s been difficult.
Especially as content isn’t the main thing I do because right now I’m building a bunch of stuff for Financial Hot Girl—and this mixed in with the pressure to create content, fulfil brand-facing responsibilities and everything else… it’s been tough!
I’m personally trying to focus on:
Maintaining gym and healthy eating routines (daily gelato included)
Dedicated email and content time blocks everyday
Dedicated time blocks to see Buenos Aires (we still haven’t had the chance to see the city much!)
So if you see any BA content, give it some love, it’s been a squeeze! I’ve learned a LOT about the Argentine economy and the personal finance issues that exist here, so I can’t wait to share.
Have a great week, if you made it this far - you’re a real one!!!
