Dear Financial Hot Girls, please stop lying to yourself about wanting money and wealth
It’s so taboo and seems so icky to freely say, out loud, with your chest: “I want money, a lot of it, and I never want to run out”.
I’m so guilty of this.
For years on my social media I’ve been very coy about my real goals. I know that it’s not very ‘ladylike’ or ‘humble’ to be vocal about your financial ambitions.
And it’s held me back from actually verbalising just how big my goals are sometimes.
But the thing I’ve realised is that... by taming the way I speak about my financial goals, I’m taming the goal itself. I’m taming its ability to even exist in my life.
Now I’ll stop there: how many of you now think I’ve gone full woowoo?
I thought that myself, too 😅 The concept that something can’t exist in real life if it doesn’t exist in your head seems a little silly. But I think it’s very, very true. And it’s the same thing as being delulu, or ‘lucky girl syndrome’, or creating your own luck.
And the more I think about it, the more I know that if you’ve joined this community, the one thing I want you to be able to take away from it is more power and self-belief.
I don’t want anyone (especially the girlies) to feel icky or taboo when they speak about their money goals.
And I want you to think about how that ick shows up in your life.
Does it affect the way you talk about your career goals?
Does it affect the way you don’t talk about your financial goals?
Does it affect the way you talk about yourself at work?
Hi, I wanted to share my story, sorry this isn’t a dilemma! But since following your page, I’ve set up standing orders for my holiday pot, shopping pot, and managed to go on my dream birthday trip this year completely guilt free.
I’ve since felt really relaxed about money and even though I spend it, I know it’s doing something to enrich my life. This year has just been really transformative for me despite not winning the lottery! Thanks for all the content you make!!!!
