from 0 to 10,000 subs after burning a 25,000 list
the strategy, the mistakes, and the decision logic I wish I’d had earlier
Today we’re breaking the fourth wall again (a term I learned about from reality TV) and deep diving into the strategy behind building Financial Hot Girl.
The reason I like to write about and share these learnings is because a) I am incredibly curious about building businesses, email and personal branding and b) I want you to learn from my mistakes and my wins. It’s the only way to ensure that you—as the readers—are able to grow, expand your income, and build a world we’re all proud to be in. The more I can do to help shape that, the better I can sleep at night 🫶
In this issue:
How I gained 25,000 emails
I had an email list, but not an email system
Why I deleted 25,000 people
How I secretly didn’t (?) delete 25,000 people
The 3 exact steps I’d repeat if I could go back
What I’ll keep doing to hit my goals
In March last year, I proudly announced that I was all in on Financial Hot Girl, after years of hiding it. And after years of collecting emails (around 25,000) I burned it all down to start from scratch.
And this is not to brag. I’m simply trying to emphasise what a colossal lack of direction can do when it comes to an effective email strategy, and why it led to me burning it all down to start from 0.
