your ego is lying to you (& that's a good thing)
The science behind why your brain is secretly sabotaging your dreams
Your ego has been lying to you.
And not in a cute way. I'm talking about the sneaky, sous-chef-of-self-sabotage kind of lies that keep high achievers (like us) stuck in planning mode forever.
While lying on my foam roller this week and questioning all my life choices (more on that later), I stumbled across a concept in "The War of Art" that literally made me almost drop my phone on my face.
Turns out, that voice telling you to "wait until you're ready"? It's not trying to protect you at all.

Everyone has an ego problem (…apparently)
This week I've been deep in Steven Pressfield's "The War of Art" again (almost finished!). There's this fascinating concept about the battle between the ego and the self that I NEED to share with you.
Here's the idea: Your ego is basically that annoying friend who's always saying "but what if you fail?" while your authentic self is the quiet voice saying "but what if you fly?" (Sorry for the cliché, but sometimes they exist for a reason)
Pressfield explains that resistance (aka procrastination's boujie cousin) comes from the ego trying to protect us from potential failure or judgment.
But here's the mindset shift that blew my mind: The ego isn't protecting you - it's protecting itself. It’s rooted in self-preservation. It doesn’t care about you.

Your personal permission slip
Speaking of resistance, let's talk about perfectionism's sneaky new disguise: "waiting for the perfect moment."
Here's your permission slip to be perfectly imperfect: Instead of asking "Am I ready?" try asking "Am I willing?"
Being willing to start messy > waiting to start perfectly
P.S. if your response to “Am I willing?” is hard to find or hits home… it’s working.
Working with (not against) your body
Vulnerability hour: This month threw me a curveball with a lower back injury (shoutout to anyone else who's dealt with the random body betrayals of your late 20s).

But instead of letting it derail me completely, I’ve found myself exploring the world of at-home pilates.
Quick Amazon haul that's changing the game:
A long resistance band for mobility work
A Pilates ball for core stability
A foam roller (painful af but worth it)
Remember: Adaptation > Abandonment. Sometimes the path forward isn't pushing harder - it's pivoting smarter.
Community wins!!!
I’ve been emotional this week speaking to some of the 100 day sprinters. With just over 5 weeks left of the challenge, there are some visible signs of consistency starting to show. Nothing lights me up more than this!
Some wins from the community: puzzle completions and presenting in Tokyo. It could only be us 💅

So proud of everyone!

What's one thing your ego told you this week that you're choosing not to believe? (Mine was "you can't build strength while injured" 🙄)
Wrong answers only: What's the most ridiculous excuse your inner resistance has ever given you? (I'll go first: "I can't start my business until I’m PERFECT IN EVERY WAY")
What's one tiny way you're choosing progress over perfection this week?
