I’ve got to thank you for the clarity with which you present financial ideas, the diagrams and presenting others work really helps to paint a picture of the problem and give me agency over the solution!

Loved this. I’m certainly guilty of purchasing an identity instead of focussing on changing my habits. But also some of my purchases have really helped me move towards being offline. For example, I have a digital audio player that’s allowed me to quit the Spotify algorithm. Likewise, I read a lot more on an ereader than I ever would on a phone or with physical books.

It’s also interesting how new products are being created to fit the offline niche. Look the Light Phone. It’s bloody expensive for a less functional device.

Capitalism makes the digital world so uncomfortable that they can convince you to buy more to survive it.

I really like this analysis of the offline movement, especially the comparison to running which felt spot-on! I wrote a post about creating more digital intentionality on my blog as well, please feel free to check it out :)
