dev, this is special one... i’m 24 and spent my early 20s trying to buy into the 'it girl' aesthetic, but honestly, it just felt like buying anxiety in a box tbh. moving the focus to future-proofing and literacy feels like the ultimate glow up and knowing how to manage my life is way more attractive than just looking like i do, hell yeah! thank you for this <3
I’m so happy reading your comment!!!! This is exactly what I want to encourage with FHG. Being financially hot doesn’t cancel wanting to look great (and feel great!!) but this day and age requires the literacy - especially financial - to use that as leverage for your future. You’ll never feel worse for doing it. Thank you for reading it darina♥️
For me it’s trusting my own knowledge and assessment of financial decisions and making the best choices for my life, not necessarily what may suit or be promoted by others. Learning more when I’m not sure. Operating from my values. And being an absolute maniac when it comes to my budget spreadsheet haha
yes i think you hit the nail on the head - the confidence definitely comes from understanding that your own path CAN be your own path, and being bullish on your own values. love being a financial maniac i 100% support that lol

Every era rewards a certain kind of competence.
The incentives changed, so the definition of “hot” had to change too.
What reads as confidence now isn’t visibility or consumption.
It’s literacy. Restraint. The ability to understand systems and tradeoffs without panic.
That shift feels real, and overdue.
