Since the past few days, I have been stuck in this loop of thinking everybody's ahead, how everybody has their stuff managed and here I am, clueless, confused, scared. And then I came across this article and the perspective shift has been significant. Understanding low agency and it's impact somewhere cleared some of my doubts and I feel more and more people should know about how simply changing your perspective over any problem can help you view it as a challenge and not a threat and can help get through it while holding yourself accountable for the progress and not the actual problem.
firstly you’re not clueless!!! it can feel confusing and scary when you’re stuck IN the loop instead of on the outside looking at the blocks in your life sometimes so give yourself some grace 🤎
understanding the power of taking agency is life changing because you truly can just decide to fix a problem. so glad this resonated with you
Insightful article 🙌 I have fallen into these traps many times; action is what always brings me back. Maybe reading more about it will help cement those habits, definitely checking George Mack's essay.
The kids who watch parents make boring on-purpose money choices (the saved-up vacation, the no-thanks-not-this-year) learn what intentional looks like before they have a word for it.
love this perspective shift, making active choices, rather than being passive and "going with the flow". With the latter mindset, you can realise you ended up somewhere you didn't intend to be (and not for the better).

action is always (annoyingly) the answer 😅 yes, you’ll love the essay. it’s full of great visuals too!

you’re so right, being passive can be so dangerous when you lose track of time as well
